There is a wide variety of teachers from talented and passionate to lackluster and burned out to all of the in between. How do we keep teachers talented and passionate and away from getting burned out or lackluster?

  1. Money motivates people. We want as professional of a teacher corps in this nation as we can but we aren't willing to aggressively make it happen. Contradiction...?

  2. I think you underestimate the drive of the talented and passionate. They can sniff out the lackluster and most of them would be smart enough to stay away. Buildings are always going to have a wide variety of teachers. Sometimes the good teachers need to see the bad and vice versa. Then they know that each side exists.
