They say ten percent of teachers in America aren't doing their job (whatever that means). How much do these people really impact the system?

  1. That's a good question. Again where are they getting this information and are they doing anything about it? I feel it does impact the system, but am not sure to what extent.

  2. I would guess this is similar to a business where the big machine keeps chugging along regardless of the fact that some are not pulling their weight.

  3. Dirk is right. The system keeps going. I doubt if one person can "ruin" the system. Or can they...?

  4. That's the whole thing about teaching, if that one bad teacher ruins it for one kid it is a disaster.

  5. Unless they are doing something criminal, they can ruin anything. We all just rattled off teachers we've worked with who are bad teachers. The impact they had was minimal
