Why do states continue to use "high stakes tests" when all it does (seemingly) is tell the general public how bad of a job our schools are doing?

  1. I get how the public wants accountability. But still, do test scores convey the jobs that schools are doing?

    1. No they help, but there are many other factors. Background/home-life, financial, attendance, etc.

  2. That is a good question and think it is the only way for government or the state education association to assess every school.

  3. The public wants to be able to see the results of the money they are investing in schools. How should schools show results?
