With the power of teacher unions and the media, I think it would be pretty tough to fire a teacher. I do however think there would be a "blackballing" of that teacher by the administration. Applying for coaching jobs, administrative positions, etc would all of a sudden be difficult to get if your views were public.

ReplyDeleteI do believe that teachers are either "in" or "out" in the eyes of the adminstration based on their beliefs and statements.
Words, certainly are somewhat insulated today. Actions are not. I suppose its for the best.
