Do students of poor backgrounds, inner city, or different race still get treated differently today?

  1. Meant to also add: Does it affect their learning being at an inner city school?

  2. Do you think students at Des Moines North are treated the same as students at Waukee? Unquestionably students at poor school are treated differently but is that based more on race or socioeconomic level?

  3. DSM North has a good staff with good teachers. Waukee works with a different clientele than North. This isn't an opinion, its a fact. Staff at North knows the situation and does their best to remediate. You don't take a job at North without knowing what you are getting into. They do their best.

  4. There is still a difference, but I don't think as pronounced as it once was.

  5. Troubled students come from troubled families , more complex than race and s.e.s.
