I agree with Troutman in that they had to fight to get a starting place. There was more improvements that needed to be made. Teachers at times, especially in the first 2-3 years at a district, they are more worried about losing their jobs than before.
Teachers were fighting for improvements. Many are complacent now. At least here, I can not speak for urban areas.

ReplyDeleteI think in the past unions attracted more radicals, but I don't think it's true today.
